Despite the State of Maryland moving into Phase Two of Reopening, Zion UMC remains closed for services, meetings, the food pantry, etc. The procedures, guidelines and protocols outlined by Pastor Dave in The Beacon remain in effect for Phase Two.
Our services will be available online each week via YouTube. (Click on the link above on our website.)
Every Sunday at 10 a.m. weather permitting, we will hold a drive-in service in our Glasgow Street parking lot. This service will be held, weather permitting, within the guidelines set forth by the Governor's Office, which includes that all participants MUST remain in their vehicles and no vehicle may have more than 10 persons. No physical interaction is permitted with clergy, staff, or participants in any other vehicles. Please roll your windows down to hear the service. Should the service need to be cancelled, we will post notices on our Facebook Page, this web site, our church office voicemail, and through emails to those for whom we have an email address.
On the FOURTH & FIFTH Sundays of each month, services are broadcast on the RADIO-WCEM 1240AM at 11:00 A.M.
Please visit www.zionumccambridge.org for more information, including bulletins and hymn lyrics.
We are asking everyone to PAUSE & PRAY everyday at 1:00 p.m.
God is in charge. Our faith & trust in God will get us through this difficult time.
COMMUNICATION: Communication is key during this very fluid situation. Please share information from emails with friends, relatives or neighbors who do not have access to email. We will continue to publish and mail The Beacon each month, but other mailings to share information may not be practical or timely. If you would like to help share information via the telephone with those who do not have email access, please contact the Church Office.
OFFERINGS: Zion is blessed with a very generous and consistent congregation. As you can imagine, without traditional services, we anticipate our offerings to decrease. Unfortunately, even though we aren’t gathering, the bills still have to be paid. We recognize that this pandemic will put some of our members in a financial hardship, but if you are able, we ask that you continue to send your contributions. You can send your contributions via several methods:
As your church family, we are doing everything we can to reach as many members as we can, including organizing a good old fashioned phone tree. Sometimes, the timing and/or circumstances don’t allow us to reach those without computers and/or email. Please be patient and know you are not forgotten. This continues to be a very fluid time for ALL of us and we’re learning a lot “as we go.” Help us, help you: if there is a way for us to reach you via email through a neighbor, friend or family member, please contact Janel (office@zionumccambridge) with that email address.
Please feel free to contact Pastor Dave or Janel in the church office with any questions.
